Where is the IIRC located on a Hyundai Excel?

Where is the IIRC located on a Hyundai Excel?

IIRC it is located at the front of the engine. next to the exhaust heat shield is a small connector, follow it down to the cylinder block and that is your crankshaft angle sensor. Again I could be wrong, it’s been a while since I’ve seen under the bonnet of an excel.

Can a bad crankshaft sensor cause the engine to stall?

If the crankshaft position sensor or its wiring have any issues, it can cause the crankshaft signal to be cut off while the engine is running, which can cause the engine to stall. This is usually a symptom of a wiring problem, however a bad crankshaft position sensor can also produce this symptom.

What causes a Hyundai Excel engine to suddently stop?

Look for cracks, splits etc. At night start it and look for sparks arcing out etc (a bad lead won’t cause a sudden shut down tho)

How can I tell if my Hyundai engine is working?

Have an assistant crank the engine. You should see a strong spark to the block if the ignition is working OK. The fuel side is best checked by having the system connected to a fuel pressure gauge. This is the safest option because of the fire risk inherent with the fuel.

Where is the crankshaft sensor on a Hyundai Excel?

The flywheel is at the back of the engine, (at the trans) and the crankshaft position sensor is toward the bottom. The sohc and dohc have them in the same place.

What to do when your Hyundai Excel stops?

Coil again check with multimeter….. or carry some cool water with you and when it stops, pour cold water over it and see if it starts again straight away…. (not ideal meathod but heat is what kills them and cooling the coil down can pin point a fault)
