Is the 2002 Hyundai Santa Fe a good car?
Best car ive owned, too ! I bought my 2002 SantaFe in that year brand new. Its been very reliable and ive babied the car on doing maintenance which i do myself. It routinely gets a combined 21 MPG with 23 on the Highway at 70 mph. It is very peppy and in fact, the front tires will spin from a start if you take off real quick.
What kind of gas mileage does a Hyundai Santa Fe get?
It routinely gets a combined 21 MPG with 23 on the Highway at 70 mph. It is very peppy and in fact, the front tires will spin from a start if you take off real quick. I upgraded the crummy LongTrail Tires to Michelin LX Tires and went from 225’s to 245’s — the extra width makes it handle superbly and they dont rub on anything.
What kind of towing capacity does a Hyundai Santa Fe have?
Towing capacity is awful. Can pull a 13ft Boler travel trailer. Had continuous problem with rear brakes overheating. New calipers fixed it. Transmission cooler and power steering lines both rusted through @ 220k. Replaced tires 190k, Tie rods 215k, timing belt 190k, alternator 150k, crank sensor 120k.

What is the problem with my Santa Fe?
A mechanic suspects a clogged gas tank filter. Problem is, it looks like the entire gas tank has to be removed to get to it, and it is not a sure bet that that fixes it. I have a 2002 Santa Fe (6 cyl) with only about 35,000 miles on it and this identical problem just started for me about six months ago. Maybe it is a fuel filter.
What kind of car is a Santa Fe?
I have a 2002, 6 cylinder Santa Fe with 120,000 miles. It generally runs great. Thee only problem I have is after I fill the car with gas, it is difficult to get the car started, and it runs rough for the next minute or so.
Is the valve on a Santa Fe under warranty?
The valve is covered by the 6 year/60,000 warranty, but not the longer powertrain warranty. Unfortunately, my Santa Fe has over 60,000 so the repair was 250 dollars. The part is only 36 dollars – the rest labor. I urge everyone to go get their valve replaced now while their car is under warranty.
What are the signs of a faulty fuel pump?
Faulty fuel pumps There can be a number of tell-tale signs that a fuel pump may be failing. Some of the obvious symptoms include a loud electrical clicking or whining noise when the engine is running even at idle.
Why does my Santa Fe make a clunking noise?
Apparently they have an inherent problem with the early Santa Fe speed sensors, but for some reason, don’t want to notify their customers to come in and have the sensors replaced. Thanks again. As I approach junctions etc and slow down, there is a grinding, clunking noise with the brakes. The brakes are also ineffective.
