An Ex-Mechanic with a Heart Condition, too cold to work on an engine up here in CT. 2006 hyundai sonata, ESC light comes on but not ABS. After coming to a stop, and starting to accelerate, the engine light and ESC light come on. Then the car acts like it is in neutral, in that the brakes and steering don’t work properly.

Why does my ESC Ding when I get Out of the car?
As long as the ESC is actually functioning I don’t give a flying fig about the light itself at this point. This is not the only electrical type glitch I have. Periodically the car dings when I get out as though I left the keys in (they aren’t).
