What makes your car shake when you hit a bump?
My car and steering wheel shake violently when I hit a bump between 45-55 mph. It stops when I tap the brakes or slow down. That started yesterday. Today it smells like burning rubber or plastic. Basically it is a shock on your steering that helps prevent your wheel from wobbling back and forth when hitting bumps. It also helps from your solid front axle vehicle from wondering or walking and swerving all over the road.
Why does my DSM shake when I hit a bump?
Check your sway bar bushings make sure they are there and not completely cracked. Also check the sway bar end links. They can break pretty easy and will make the car shake pretty good. Make sure struts arent leaking as well as check the springs to make sure they arent broken, not very common on DSM’s but it does happen.
