Took my car in because I thought the tie rod popped off again since it has twice before, but as it turns out, the subframe was so corroded from the salt and snow up in MI that a bolt that connects the tie rod (I think) went right through it.

Why did the sub frame on my 2005 Hyundai Sonata rot out?

Hyundai Corporation refuses to repair the subframe rusted/with holes, despite numerous attempts to get some satisfaction. The sub frame on my 2005 Hyundai Sonata rotted out due to the climate and road salt in Massachusetts. My mechanic said that 2001 through 2004 Hyundai Sonatas were recalled for this issue but not 2005. Why not 2005?
