Penguin Island is the South’s favourite spot for a snorkel. Between the coast and the island is a calm stretch of water with some pretty fascinating wildlife. Seals and dolphins tend to frequent the area, and if you’re lucky, you may even see the resident sea lions or penguins taking a dip.

Snorkelling from shore Point Peron and Mushroom Rocks are interesting snorkelling sites. The limestone has been carved into numerous overhangs, small caves and swimthroughs very close to shore in up to five metres. The north and south ends of the beach at Long Reach are gently sloping and sandy, allowing easy entry.
