What to do about c1290 zero point of steering alignment?
I’m desperate for help, the toyotanation forums offered no advice. Getting the C1290 error, after having the driver side ball join and lower control arm replaced after sliding into a curb in my ’11 avalon. How would i reset this code with the TIS software?
What does C1260 and c1290 mean on a Honda Accord?
c1260 indicates steering circuit fault, and c1290 indicates a failed torque sensor. I guess the torque sensor failure would fire both the EPS (power steering) and ESC (Stability control) lights, so probably just replacing that part was really required.

The two fault codes they get are C1260 (steering angle sensor failure) and C1290 (torque sensor failure). I had hoped that Sallyid’s fix (wheel alignment and reset steering angle sensor) would sort it out (though the serv dept were very sceptical), however they have come back to me to report no such luck.

Is the power steering fine on my Hyundai i30?
The power steering has been fine since the last time I posted in October 2014 (after the reset & wheel alignment) I have driven about 13,0000km since then and the car was serviced at 90,000km as per Hyundai specifications. I am very happy that I saved money and that my research and seeking of second/ third opinions paid off!
