Where is the hood latch on a Jeep Cherokee?
To open the hood of the Jeep Grand Cherokee, locate the release lever in the cabin. It is installed on the driver’s side of the vehicle to the left of the steering wheel. Look under the dash panel to find a black release lever printed with a picture of a raised hood. Pull it toward You to pop the hood latch open.
How to fix a broken hood latch on a Hyundai?
Have someone push down on the while you pull on the cable. Perhaps if they move the hood up and down while you pull on the cable it will release. I can try it. Just curious, have you tried this or is it your imagination? I have done this on other cars where the hood latch needed to be lubed.
Why is the hood release on my Hyundai not working?
Currently I’m running low on oil and can’t open the hood. I don’t want such an easy task ruining my car. When I pull on the release nothing happens. I can even go under and try to pull the wire a bit. This is leading me to believe that it’s broken or super worn out. Either way, I can’t open the hood.

Can you open the hood without the hood release?
Either way, I can’t open the hood. There has to be something I can do without the hood release. Any ideas? I’d rather fix this by myself than having a shop replace the wire for me which will be expensive. If I can just put oil in the car and Macgyverr the hood release that will be an acceptable temporary fix.
