Can you replace tile trim without removing tiles?
You don’t need to remove the tiles at all, you can get a stanley blade behind the trim and remove adhesive (assuming it’s even stuck down!!) and from there take the trim out. The trim will be unusable after this just so you’re aware.
What tile trim should I use?
To account for the use of adhesive you should choose a trim one size up from the depth of your chosen tile. For example, if your tile is 10mm thick we’d suggest a 12.5mm trim ensuring a smooth fit.
Can you fit tile trim after tiling?
Spread fresh tile adhesive all along the cleaned up edge and push the trim in. Clean all excess adhesive and re-grout if needed. Be gentle with the multi tool though.
What thickness of tile trim do I need?
It is recommended that you match an actual trim sample to tile before installing. The height (thickness) of your tile dictates the size of the trim. The trim should be at or slightly lower than the edge of the tile once it is installed. For example a tile that is 3/8″ (10mm) thick should work with a 3/8″ trim.
