Why is the power outlet in the center console not working?
The one in the center console isn’t working and I’ve got it narrowed down to the actual fuse panel and not the fuse. Before I explain, here is a photo of the fuse panel, under the dash, driver side, to the left…
Is there a fuse in the outlet it self?
Now here is a surprise for you… The outlet it self has a built in fuse between the 12v connection point in the back, and the contact inside at the bottom of the socket. Remove the center console and check the power socket connector for the voltage. If the voltage is there, correct or replace the power socket.
What to do if your power outlet is not working?
The first thing I did was pull the fuses in question and test them for continuity with a multimeter. Both checked out fine, I swapped the slots they were in just to be sure, and sure enough the “Power Outlet” slot worked, and the “Cigarette Lighter” slot didn’t.

Why are the power outlets on my Toyota Avalon not working?
I have 2008 Toyota Avalon with the same problem – both power outlets are dead, but the seat heaters work fine. Doesn’t this indicate that the 7.5 fuse in the interior panel is intact. So is there a relay that could be causing the problem or is the problem with the outlets themselves?
Is the cigarette lighter power outlet not working?
Both checked out fine, I swapped the slots they were in just to be sure, and sure enough the “Power Outlet” slot worked, and the “Cigarette Lighter” slot didn’t. What should I do if my Fuse isn’t working?
Try plugging it into a different power outlet to see make sure it’s working, or plug a different 12-volt device into the suspect socket. (If the electrical accessory itself is at fault, see if it has its own fuse, which is sometimes incorporated into the plug.)
What to do when your power outlet stops working?
If the fuse is bad, replace it with one of the same amperage. Even if the fuse shows no signs of being blown (one such sign might be a black spot), you might want to try a different fuse of the same amperage to make sure. If the fuse is good, you have more work to do.

Why did my 12 volt power outlet stop working?
If the voltmeter shows power is reaching the outlet, the outlet itself is probably damaged from repeated use or simple misuse. Though chargers and other plugs are supposed to be of uniform size, some may be bigger or smaller than others.
