Why are there no lights on my 4WD?
2006 silverado 1500. 4×4 would not engage on mine. I would receive service 4wd message on dash and 4wd switch would change light locations randomly. Changed swich and it did not fix the problem.

Service 4wd light has been coming on for a while, time to do something about it now. Luckily I can get a used TCCM from a wrecker for $125, about the same price as the dealership charges for the test. Have already checked the 4wd switch and replaced the encoder motor. Hope this helps someone else down the road.

Alot of the times its the actual 4wd switch ( the one on the dash) sounds like you have no power going to the transfer case i had this problem on my 88 none of the lights would work…. check your switch on your transfer case you should have power on 1 side of the plug Ok. I tried unplugging the battery a few people said that worked for them.
