The actual interview date from that point depends on how backlogged the embassy/consulate is. Some have a very long wait of many months, others a few weeks.
When does a case get sent to NVC?
It sounds like your case is not being expedited. Your case will remain at NVC until the interview is scheduled. NVC will schedule your interview after the consulate has informed them of available dates and your case is at the front of the queue for that consulate. Cases are not sent to the consulate until after NVC has scheduled the interview.
