Is Obergurgl good for skiing?
Obergurgl has long been a Ski Club favourite thanks to its incredible snow record, traditional mountain village charm and reputation as a family friendly resort. The terrain is above the tree-line and favours beginner and intermediate skiers, but there is some good off piste to explore for more advanced skiers.
Is Obergurgl expensive?
Overall not a bad resort, but in comparison to other Austrian resorts I have been to Obergurgl is expensive. Large beer was anywhere between 5-7 euro, coffee/hot choc 5 euro, toasty 5 euro. Comparable items in Soll or Kaprun are about half the price.

Sölden is a very lively resort, with a buzzing après ski scene. It may not rival St Anton, but it certainly comes close at times and prices are definitely lower.
