Overall at base ISO, with default settings and the right lens the Pentax K-x produces output that shows good detail out of the box. For JPEG shooters there’s not really a need to play with the parameters. At default settings the images show a natural tonal and color range and good pixel-level sharpness without any sharpening artifacts.
