In the famous scene in ROTJ where Vader dies he asks Luke to take off his helmet so he can look at him with his own eyes to which Luke replies “but you’ll die”. To my knowledge Luke didn’t even know Vader was only in the suit to stay alive so how is Luke able to determine that Vader’s helmet was keeping him alive?
