Her is a phenomenal movie. I didn’t go in expecting much, and thought it would be a cheesy scifi movie. Instead, I found it to be deeply thoughtful, romantic and sad, all at the same time, and found it very moving in places. The beauty of love when it works, and how love at its best can be intoxicating, idealistic and selfless.

The cinematography and use of color in “Her” is really beautiful. The acting is uniformly good. Particularly Amy Adams, who plays an understated role as a nerdy girl next door who may have feelings for Theodore; despite a relatively quiet part, she completely inhabits Amy, making her feel like an actual person.
