Western Australia’s Integrated Water Supply Scheme delivers 279 billion litres of water to 1.5 million people in Perth, the Goldfields and parts of the South West. This water comes from three main sources: groundwater, surface water and desalination.
Who supplies water in Perth?
Perth receives approximately 10% to 20% of its water from a series of reservoirs, 40% from groundwater sources (mostly from the Gnangara groundwater system north of Perth), and 40% from two seawater desalination plants.

Please note: Picnic and recreational areas at Perth and Peel dams managed by Water Corporation have re-opened, in line with current advice. Our dams have great visitor facilities such as picnic areas, walk trails and lookouts and birdlife and are a great spot for a day out.
