Why does my element door lock not work?
The lock works fine, but sometimes it takes a few attempts to get the key to go completely into the door lock. Sometimes, the key slides in just fine on the first try. It is happening with all the of the Element’s keys that I got, when I bought it new. I tried spraying some WD-40 into the lock, and it really hasn’t helped that much.
Can a Honda Element lock with a key?
There is no problem with manual operation of any of the locks when using the key. The driver’s side door also has to be locked with the key or the door handle has to be pulled, to the open position, in order to push down the lock on top of the door panel, which is normal.

Why does my car key not open the door?
It is a 2006 Envoy XL Denali 4×4 5.3L V8. Likely a rod or two that actuates the lock inside the door has came loose / broke it’s clips. Need to pull the door panel to confirm. One door lock key slot because that’s all that’s needed…until it breaks. No transponder that I know of in the keys/fobs, could be wrong but I’m pretty sure of it.
