How is PAYE paid in Uganda?
PAYE is deducted every month and is charged based on your monthly income while LST is charged annually and it is based on one’s annual income. This is usually deducted during the 1st four months of the financial year after which the deduction is stopped.
How is PAYE deducted from salary?
PAYE is calculated monthly and paid to SARS by your employer monthly, even if you are paid weekly / fortnightly. This is then divided again by the same work period to get the monthly PAYE tax which is then withheld, displayed on your IRP5 and paid over to SARS.
