The module is timed meaning it runs for x amount of turns of the motor depending on where it thinks the glass is for instance 3 clockwise turns from close to vent and 20 turns from vent to open. There is no sensors just timing based on where it thinks it is.
Why is my GM Yukon XL sunroof stuck open?
I disconnected my battery in my 2001 Yukon Xl and now my sunroof is stuck in the open position and will not close, it pulses for a couple seconds and stops. The GM sync procedure says the sunroof needs to be closed to sync it. Any idea on how I can get this to close?

You can use process of elimination to isolate it as the problem. Make a fused power supply wire and ground wire. Apply direct voltage and make the motor run. If it runs and is not growling and noisy, it’s okay. Remove the wiper switch and inspect it. Test it for proper voltage supply.
