What is a surfski kayak?
A Surfski is a sit-on-top kayak, designed so that if flooded with water the boat is able to drain itself, and is easy to remount if the paddler was to fall out. KPC has five surfski singles available for club use, as well as paddles and PFD’s (Personal Flotation Device aka lifejacket).
Should you wax bottom of kayak?
Generally, the kayak wax is not necessary for polyethylene and inflatable kayaks. It is more recommended for composite kayaks. However, it is always a good idea to apply a protective coating on plastic vessels. The protective layer will help enhance the vessels’ UV protection and the color of its hull.
