Where is the fuel pump relay on a 1986 Mustang?
For 1986-91 Mustang year models, the Fuel Pump relay location is located under the driver’s seat area. This tends to be the usual location across the board. So, placement of this relay doesn’t get more in-depth until you get to the 1992-93 year models.
Where are the fuel pumps on a fox body Mustang?
A big issue that many Fox Body Mustang owners have is finding their Fox Body fuel pump relay locations. It is good to know that depending on the year, the fuel pump relay will be located in different areas. So, we at LMR have provided a quick location guide.
When do you need a fuel pump relay?
For example, if your car has 2 relays near the MAF sensor instead of just 1 then you most likely have the later 92’-year model. If you are needing this fuel pump relay for your 1992-93 Mustang, check it out here!

How can I tell if my fuel pump relay is working?
Check for voltage on both sides of the switch. If there is voltage on both sides, then check the Pink/black wire on the fuel pump relay: it is the power feed to the fuel pump. Good voltage there, then the fuel pump is the likely culprit since it is getting power.

How can I Trick my fuel pump into running?
To trick the fuel pump into running, find the ECC test connector and jump the connector in the lower RH corner to ground. No voltage when jumpered, check the fuel pump relay and fuse links. Power feed: Look for 12 volts at the pink/black wire (power source for fuel pump relay).
Why does my Ford pickup have a green relay?
You’ll be able to find out if the fuel pump relay, or the fuel pump Inertia Switch, or the fuel pump is the cause of the No Start Condition on your Ford car or pickup.
