Can you share Waterpik tips?
Can multiple people use the Water Flosser with different tips? Yes, Waterpik® Water Flossers have removable tips so that multiple family members can use the same device. A ring at the base of the tip is color-coded for easy identification.
Can two people use the same Waterpik flosser?
Since Waterpik flossers are pricey, most people spend on only one of them. In that case, you should NEVER use the same flosser tip which has been used by somebody else. To help you identify which flosser tip belongs to whom, there are different color-coded bands at the end of the tip.
Can you use a Waterpik to clean your nose?
Waterpik® Technique (alternate technique) — Use a Waterpik with a Sinus Irrigator Tip. Pour the saltwater into the water reservoir and set the Waterpik at the lowest possible pressure. Insert the tip just inside your nostril, and allow the fluid to run out of your mouth or other nostril. Blow your nose lightly.
Can you use Waterpik too much?
You Can Use a Waterpik Every Day You can safely use a Waterpik as often as you like, it will only help to improve your oral care. If you have gum disease or have trouble brushing or flossing, your dentist may even recommend that you use a Waterpik more often than once per day.

A water pick can help remove food particles from your teeth and might help reduce bleeding and gum disease — but it isn’t generally considered a substitute for brushing and flossing. It doesn’t generally remove visible film and plaque on your teeth, but can aid in reduction of bacteria even below the gumline.
Should you brush or Waterpik first?
We recommend using the Water Flosser prior to toothbrushing: Removing food and debris enhances the effectiveness of both toothbrushing and toothpaste. Instructing patients to use it first improves compliance. Seeing the food and debris that the Water Flosser removes can help motivate your patient to Water Floss daily.

Do you still need to floss when using a Waterpik?
Yes. Keep in mind that water flossers are only an adjunct to brushing and flossing. If you only use water flossers and don’t floss you can still get cavities in between your teeth. You need to break the contact between your teeth with floss.
