Is there a 12V fuse in my truck?
Every fuse in the truck seems to be OK. Take the socket out and see if there is 12V at the plug (connector). Now that you have the socket out, use your meter and find out where the continuity stops. There is indeed a fusible link (very small) where the 2 spade lugs are located.
Why does my Tacoma not have an accessory fuse?
It’s possible someone just forgot to plug the outlets in the last time it was off… I neglected to mention that my tacoma is 1995/96. There doesn’t seem to be an accessory relay in the fuse box under the hood. So I’m still open to suggestions.
What happens if you pop the fuse on a stereo?
It seems to be a mixed bag, some people pop the fuseable link and have to replace the socket. And others pop the fuse or fry the relay in the fuse box under the hood. The lower trim with the outlets is taken off when a stereo is installed (or removed).
Why is the fuse on my cigarette lighter not working?
But if both don’t work, I doubt that’s the issue. If you were using the upper one that usually has the cigarette lighter in it, that’s powered off the ACC fuse. Most likely the fusible link. I removed mine and replaced it with a short piece of wire.
What should I do if my Fuse isn’t working?
Try plugging it into a different power outlet to see make sure it’s working, or plug a different 12-volt device into the suspect socket. (If the electrical accessory itself is at fault, see if it has its own fuse, which is sometimes incorporated into the plug.)
