This is a very strong, dark stout with flavors of chocolate, coffee, oak, vanilla, and some caramel.

“KBS has been a large volume brand for a while now, so the days of making the entire batch exactly 12 months before the release date are far behind us. We’ve gotten pretty good at finding the right blend of nine-month-old barrels and 15-month-old barrels to hit the desired profile.

KBS/CBS have any residual caffeine. Otherwise I haven’t had a caffeinated beverage in 3 years (except maybe twice accidentally). I tolerate some coffee flavor in a stout if the stout flavor is rich enough. The amount of caffeine varies by beer.
Do you chill KBS?
I find KBS to be the most delicious while it’s still cool but not cold, which I would guess is somewhere in the 60s. It’s fun to taste some of the individual flavours when the beer is colder, and to see how these flavours evolve over time and how they all come together as it warms up.
