TodaysMeet is shutting down. James Socol, the creator and only developer of TodaysMeet, has announced that he’s shutting it down on June 16th.
What is like TodaysMeet?
Like TodaysMeet, Mentimeter enables students to provide real-time, online responses and feedback during class. Teachers can use Mentimeter as a presentation tool and select from a variety of response options such as questions, polls, word clouds, reactions, and more.
What is backchannel chat?
Backchannel Chat is a real time educational discussion tool. It is designed with teachers in mind foremost, with tools for teachers to manage the students and the content in the discussion. That means no advertising and not collecting personal information from students.

When we introduced Backchannel in 2018, we wanted to provide a new way to collaborate on Padlet. Instead, we made just another messaging app. On June 30, 2021, we will stop offering the Backchannel format.

How do Plicker cards work?
Plickers is a free, interactive tech tool that uses printable “paper clickers” instead of clicker devices. Then students hold up their Plickers cards and rotate them to indicate which answer they think is correct. The teacher scans all of the response cards at once, using the Plickers app installed on a mobile device.
Is YoTeach free?
YoTeach! is a free backchanneling app created for teachers and students. Create a room and set a password then provide the URL to your students. Once in the platform, the site’s features allow you to share chat discussions, use the online whiteboard, and upload images.
