Can you camp anywhere at Glacier National Park?
Camping in Glacier National Park is permitted only in designated campgrounds. Glacier’s 13 campgrounds provide more than 1000 campsites, with most available on a first-come, first serve basis. Group sites for 9-24 campers are available at Apgar, Many Glacier, St. Mary, and Two Medicine.

Is it safe to camp in Glacier National Park?
Unfortunately, no campground will be 100% safe from Grizzly Bears. That is why you must keep a clean site and follow all regulations. So, if you want to minimize your chances of an encounter, do not camp at Many Glacier campsite. So long as you keep a clean camp, you should not encounter a Grizzly Bear while sleeping.
How many bear attacks a year in Glacier National Park?
On average, there are only one or two non-lethal bear “incidents” in a given year. And, there have only been 10 bear related fatalities in the history of the park (all of those have occurred since 1967). Only three of those fatalities involved hikers, and at least two of those were solo hikers.
When can you book camping in Glacier National Park?
Glacier National Park Camping Reservations You can make reservations up to six months in advance for Fish Creek and St. Mary, and up to 12 months in advance for group sites at Apgar. During the summer season, camping fees range between $10 and $65 per night.
Do you need reservations for Glacier?
Entry reservation tickets are not required for any other portions of the park (for example Many Glacier, Two Medicine, North Fork, Cut Bank or Chief Mountain Highway) but visitors are still subject to the per vehicle entrance fee. Will I see a bear in Glacier National Park?
