What does the word Caifanes mean?
The name Caifanes is derived from 1940s Mexican pachuco (zoot suiter) slang “Cae fine”. Its equivalent in English would be “cool dude.” The word has also been used to describe the proverbial Mexican pachuco, delinquent, or outsider.

How are the Jaguares different from your previous band, the Caifanes? We’re pretty much in the same line of work. We had to change the name because there were problems with people in the first band who later went away.

But eventually El Diablo came through for his new family, and used his powers to battle Enchantress’ brother Incubus.
