How do you use TeachTown?
To start a computer session using Facilitator selected lessons:
- Click the START STUDENT SESSION tab at the top of the screen.
- Click FACILITATOR SELECTED LESSONS.
- Set the session length by doing one of the following:
- Click CONTINUE.
- Once your student is ready to begin, Click START SESSION.
- The TeachTown map will appear.
Is Teach town research based?

TeachTown Social Skills has been designed for students with moderate and severe disabilities who often need extra support when it comes to mastering social skills. This comprehensive curriculum teaches socially-valid skills through animated video-modeling episodes, teacher-delivered lesson plans and student activities.

TeachTown® enCORE and related products comprise a suite of computer-assisted instructional (CAI) applications that deliver highly engaging On Computer Lessons that connect to motivational Generalization Lessons for students who are developmentally aged 2 to 15 years.
What is TeachTown enCORE?
TeachTown’s enCORE solution is the only standards-based, core-curriculum based on applied behavior analysis (ABA) that provides students with moderate and severe disabilities, including students with autism and other intellectual and developmental disabilities, access to the general education curriculum.
How do you assign lessons on TeachTown?
Follow the steps below to choose lessons for your student:
- Launch Basics Primary and Log In.
- Select your student.
- Click CURRICULUM at the top of the page.
- Click VIEW FACILITATOR SELECTED LESSONS.
- Click ADD LESSONS at the bottom of the page.
- Click the box in the Add column next to the lesson you want to add.
What are Encore classes?
Encore classes are kind of like enrichment classes. These include: band, chorus, art, computers, Spanish, CTE (technology), and health sciences. Some students may have CIS (Communities in Schools). You will have two Encore classes each nine weeks and will eventually rotate between all of them by the end of the year.
