Do PO boxes notify you?
Informed Delivery is a free and optional notification feature that gives residential and eligible PO Box™ consumers the ability to digitally preview their letter-sized mail and manage their packages scheduled to arrive soon.
Does the postal service send emails?
The USPS does not send email notifications when they have a package for pick-up. Always check with the source directly to see if the email is legitimate or a USPS email scam before clicking on any links or giving away personal information. Contact your local post office by phone. Examine any suspicious emails closely.
How do I get PO Box notifications?
1. Visit informeddelivery.usps.com and click “Sign Up for Free.” 2. Enter your residential address or personal P.O. Box address to verify that it is eligible for Informed Delivery.
Does USPS allow PO Box?
Whether it’s for business or personal use, USPS® offers a range of PO Box™ sizes to hold your mail and packages safely at a Post Office™ facility near you. Many locations allow 24/7 PO Box access, and if a package is too large to fit in your box, we’ll hold it for you.
How do you know if you have mail in PO box?
To verify that you have access to that PO Box, the Post Office will send a letter with a random code to the PO Box. When you get that letter, you enter the random code in your new USPS online account. That confirms you are in control of the PO Box.
Who signs for certified mail to a PO box?
You simply address the letter to a P.O. Box instead of a street address. If the Certified Mail letter requires a signature from the recipient, the mail carrier will leave a delivery slip (PS Form 3849) inside the P.O. Box instructing the recipient to present the delivery slip to the window clerk.
Does USPS send alerts?
Most USPS domestic packages tied to the address associated with a USPS account will be automatically available on the Informed Delivery dashboard. Users can also receive USPS Tracking updates for incoming packages via separate email or text notifications.
