DHC was eventually acquired by Montreal-based Bombardier Aerospace in 1992. The deal, which closed on 3 June 2019 following regulatory approval, brought the entire de Havilland product line under the same banner for the first time in decades, under a new holding company named De Havilland Aircraft of Canada Limited.
Is the Twin Otter still being built?
Viking owns the Original Type Certificates (manufacturing rights) to all out of production de Havilland aircraft, as well as the DHC-6 Twin Otter. At this point, Viking has no current plans to manufacture other DHC aircraft. As with any business, we will keep our options open to best serve our future customers.
