If you tap in a ground wire to the wire your upper arrow is pointing to you should be in buisness. Those wires should be in a loom with the main wiring harness though so let’s hope they didn’t cut it somewhere else. What is off voltage on Honda rancher 420?

The off voltage was 13.8 and with the ignition on it went down to 6 then back up to 8 where it stabilized. So there’s a short somewhere. Hopefully if i can find a diagram to figure out which part it is.

It can have good voltage without being able to deliver current (amperage). As Melatv said, try boosting it from another good battery. It sure sounds like you have a bad battery. Even if you can’t get it in neutral, you can still start it by holding in the right front brake handle while pressing the start button.
