Is the Honda CRV making a humming noise?
Humming noise coming from rear is getting louder & louder every time. As of 2-6-2010 and 45K miles the problem has not re-occurred. Bought 2006 CRV new from Honda. CRV was regularly serviced by Honda.

Problem surfaced when I would begin turning steering wheel while in a parking space pulling out and rear end would begin making noise and vibrating then noise goes away when driving straing down road. Found Honda service bulletin for this problem.

My new 2013 CRV is making the same whine between 40 and 60 mph when I let off the accelerator just a bit. It comes from the passenger side into the cab. It is driving me crazy. Yes, the dealer says it is “characteristic of “this” transmission. I am going to continue to pursue this. My car was assembled in Ohio.

How to fix Honda CRV chattering grinding vibrating noisy rear transaxle differential. Usually the rear differential fluid never gets changed so that’s usually the problem. It seems to wear out over time. It’s easy to change it with Honda dual pump fluid II. This should work 97-06.
