Is the door lock actuator on my Honda CRV working?
Now thanks to a class-action settlement, owners of the 2007-2011 CR-V have a little something to celebrate. The defective actuator usually rears it’s ugly, non-functioning head after the standard 3-year/36,000 mile warranty expires.

This last voyage kept my CR-V at the dealership for about a week and a half.
Is the VTC actuator on my Honda Accord bad?
My recent (3 weeks old) new-to-me 2011 Accord I purchased had the same VTC Actuator issue. It was a grumble on cold start ups and although people told me to not worry about it and save the money, it really sucked knowing some dude at the Honda dealer sold me this knowing that the problem was there.
When was the last time I owned a Honda CRV?
This last voyage kept my CR-V at the dealership for about a week and a half. As a side note, the loaner car they gave me was a 2016 Honda Civic EX. The last time I owned a brand new Honda Civic was in 2001, and back then it was basically a seat, a steering wheel, and four tires tethered to an engine.

Can you replace the actuator on a Honda?
The Honda dealer will not replace the actuator because they insist that once it is replaced the issue often continues to re-occur. I am considering a couple things if I do indeed fix it. Swapping it out myself (I am a light hobbyist.
What kind of noise does a Honda CRV make?
I have a 2012 Honda CRV with the 2.4 L engine. Roughly 86,000 miles. Has that famous VTC actuator grind noise after cold start up. It sounds awful for a second. I have talked to a couple of mechanics/service advisors.
