This park is administered by the Rye Town Park commission, it is actually I believe a part of the Town of Rye, though it is in the middle of the City of Rye.The beach is nice but can get crowded, I would NEVER swim there, it is approximately three miles south of the Byram river sewage treatment facility.

People are disgusting though, the town of Rye should post undercover officers there to catch all the people littering on the beach. They’d make a killing. The sad thing is that there are garbage cans EVERYWHERE. Still, so many bottles, wrappers, boxes and napkins from the concessions stand are left on the beach that they all end up in the water.

The sea has a cordoned off safe zone but the water is so opaque and strewn with seaweed that you would not know if a shark or jellyfish had penetrated. Lifeguards only there at weekends. Come on Rye!
