An eye examination at home should include most of the tests that you would expect if you had gone to the optometrist’s practice. However, because the test is being done in your home, there may be slight changes in the way that the optometrist performs the test.
Can Opticians come to the house?
On Call Opticians is a NHS registered home visiting service providing eye examinations to patients who cannot attend an Opticians by themselves, due to a physical or mental inability to do so. This is a Free NHS service to patients who are eligible for a home visit for an eye test.
Is eye test free if I buy glasses?
Across the UK many residents are eligible for an NHS funded eye test and in some cases, may even get a voucher towards the cost of their glasses or contact lenses. If you qualify, you are entitled to an NHS- funded eye test every two years.
