What kind of socket does a Chevy Silverado use?
Oh also this only works on the front two bolts for the front seats… had to use a regular 12-PT (I think it was 17mm) on the rear ones. 2001 Silverado – It’s the only way to get the nuts off the seat track. I bought two sets of e-sockets only to find that GM in their wisdom used a special nut on the two front bolts holding the seat track down.
Do you need a socket for the rear bolts?
YOU WILL NEED ANOTHER SOCKET FOR THE REAR BOLTS!!! okay with that being said this is the correct socket size ONLY for the front bolts of your GM (chevy,gmc.etc.) 99-and up for pick up or SUV. It sucks having to buy this for $10 and unable to remove the seat due to the other 2 rear bolts being different.

Can you use a Torx socket on a GMC Truck?
Its deepwell too which is nice because there are 2 studs that a regular external torx socket won’t work on. Careful if you use the 6pt socket, if you are only doing it once its fine, but taking it in and out a few times will round the edges off and you will have a hard time getting the fasteners off.
Which is the best socket for GM seats?
If you will be removing and installing several GM seats, I would probably recommend this socket (together with the socket for the back bolt). If you are like me and hope you never have to take another GM seat out in your life, get the Harbor Freight set. It’s cheaper and worked just as well for light use. 5.0 out of 5 stars NUTS!
Can a GMT800 Tahoe seat track socket work?
Worked great for my GMT800 Tahoe (00-06). Should work on all full-size GM trucks from 00-06. If you have a 99 or 07 Silverado/Sierra with the 00-06 body style this should work on those as well. Only reason for 4 stars was the price for the tool IMO is a bit expensive, alls it is a 3/8” drive splined socket… but when you need it you’ll pay for it.
What do seat bolt sockets begin with in GMC Truck?
I got a set of them that get pretty damn big. The “regular torx begin with “T” like T-25. The socket-like ones begin with “E” like E-18. Click to expand… what do you need em for? when we do the covers i can borrow the right sockets.
