What are lacquer cracks?
Lacquer cracks are breaks in Bruch’s membrane frequently observed in the posterior pole of a highly myopic eye. These distinctive fundus changes are actually quite common in axial myopia and may augur hemorrhage into the macular area, either from mechanical causes or from choroidal neovascularization.
What causes Cnvm?
CNVM occurs when new blood vessels start to grow in the choroid and break through the barrier between the choroid and the retina. When CNVM leak in the retina, they cause vision loss. CNVM are associated with many serious eye diseases, most commonly wet age-related macular degeneration.
How do you know if you have degenerative myopia?
Signs and Symptoms of Degenerative Myopia Straight lines appear distorted. Changes in color perception. Poor contrast sensitivity. Loss of central vision.

What does CNV look like?
The symptoms of CNV include a distortion or waviness of central vision or a gray/black/void spot in the central vision. This should prompt a call to an ophthalmologist right away to get a priority emergency visit.
How is CNVM diagnosed?
It continues to be the diagnostic technique of choice. This test involves the injection of a fluorescent dye into a vein in the arm and taking photographs of the back of the eye. The dye helps to show the lesions as they are vascular structures that capture the dye intensely.
At what age myopia stops?
