- Call Membership Services to discuss your application.
- Submit a draft application by the next application deadline.
- Your draft application is reviewed by the NGO and Trade union members of ETI.
- Supply any further information requested.
What is a sound and communication electrician?
Sound and Communication – 3-Year Program A sound and comm technician installs, tests, maintains, and repairs low-voltage systems in commercial and industrial areas. This apprenticeship program is three years long with over 400 hours of classroom, lab with hands-on training, and over 4,000 hours of on-the-job training.

What is a Residential Wireman?
The Residential Wiremen, like the Inside Wireman, installs the systems that distribute power from the point of entry in a building to the equipment within a building that uses that power. These craftspeople are learning the background knowledge and the skills necessary to make these systems work for today’s homeowner.
Can you switch unions if you move?
To change unions, you have to submit a petition to the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) signed by at least 30% of the members of your bargaining unit which may include workers in other plants. The NLRB will then hold an election. To be successful, the new union will have to win the majority of the votes cast.
Can you transfer IBEW locals as an apprentice?
If you already completed your apprenticeship, then you just transfer from one local to another.
