Are Escoda brushes good?
As an oil painter, I prefer Escoda’s Clasico Chungking bristle and Natural Hog brushes. They are incredibly well made, hold a lot of paint and are very durable – I still use some that are ten years old, albeit a bit worn around the edges.

Are expensive watercolor brushes worth it?
Watercolor brushes can be expensive but are well worth the investment. A few good brushes can last a lifetime (or close to it) if you take care of them. A synthetic/sable blend (middle) is a good all-around brush and in general holds the right amount of water and color for most painting.
How long do watercolor brushes last?
Brushes used several times a week should retain their physical integrity for at least six months in synthetic brushes and for at least two years in natural hair brushes. The bristles should retain their characteristic spring, shaping and release, and should not splay, break or fall out.
Are Raphael brushes good?
Raphael makes high quality brushes and if you make even a passing attempt at keeping paint out of the ferrule and doing proper brush care, these will last you years.
Where are Raphael Kolinsky brushes made?
Raphael brushes sell rather quickly and are hard to keep in stock. The Raphael brushes are all very well made by experienced people in France where brushmaking has a long history.
