Will hospice pick up donations?
For larger items, or sizable donations of goods, we are happy to pick up your second-hand goods direct from your home, office or storage facility. To arrange a pickup, please call 09 297 7550. between 9.00am and 3.00pm. Alternatively, you can email our Distribution Centre on [email protected].
How do you donate to hospice in memory of someone?
Print a mail-in donation form. For memorial gifts, include the name of loved one and contact information for an acknowledgement card, if desired. Your gift in honor or in memory of a loved one or friend is a special way to support Hope Hospice.
When you donate to hospice where does the money go?
Ninety cents of every dollar you give goes directly to HFA programs that support hospice and bereavement care in the United States.
How do monetary gifts help tidewell?
We diligently control the costs of fundraising so that your gift can be used where it is needed most — in support of patients and their loved ones. As a result, 86 cents of every dollar donated to Tidewell is used to cover the direct costs of patient care.
Does hospice accept furniture?
Any one of our Hospice Shops can accept donated goods. If you have any large pieces of furniture, call us on 0508 4 HOSPICE (0508 4 467742) and we can collect it for you for free. You can drop your goods off at your local Hospice Shop or our distribution centre at 206 Swanson Road, Henderson.
What is a hospice shop?
A hospice thrift store is a variety shop that sells donated merchandise. The proceeds from the sales are used to support local community hospice programs. The goods sold are typically donated by the community and resold to others at a discounted price.
Why does hospice need donations?
Your gift helps hospice patients in our care – regardless of age or inability to pay – live their remaining days fully, in dignity, comfort and peace, and in accordance with their wishes and beliefs. Your gift in this area provides them with personalized recognition and acknowledgement of their service.
How do hospice shops Work?
Each hospice shop is managed and run by its local hospice service. All hospice shops rely on donated goods and volunteer staff – if you have goods to donate, or if you would like to volunteer your time in one of the high quality second hand shops in your community – please contact your local shop directly.
What does hospice NZ do?
Hospice New Zealand is the national body which supports and helps its member hospices to care for people who are terminally ill. Each year many terminally ill New Zealanders and their families use hospice. Hospice palliative care is specialist care for people who are dying.
