On the driver’s side, just to the right hand side and a bit above the accelerator found a connector, (in my case it is green with a black wire), proceeded to disconnect it, this controls the flap door that lets the air flow through the heater core.

Could be a control panel issue. It’s most likely not anything related to the heater core since you’re getting heat on the passenger side. Just like thenaaks said, the door actuators might have gone bad. Small update. The max-cold air then switch to hot air did not work.
