Why are the shields on a Honda Civic so important?
IMO the shields are great not only for aerodynamics but to keep dirt and water out of the engine compartment. And for wind noise. Honda engineers knew what they were doing when they put the shields on. Put it back on. your car is great because of stuff like this. Like the acoustic windshield.

Those covers are held on with little plastic retainers, you put a flat head screwdriver in the slot on the side and gently pull down on it. The retainer is two pieces.
