Why do I have code p2646 on my Honda?
If you’ve replaced the VTEC oil pressure switch and still have code P2646 at RPMs in the 2500-400 range, you’ve got a low oil pressure issue, dirty oil, clogged VTEC screen or a problem with the VTEC assembly. In that case, make sure the oil filter is new to ensure the pressure isn’t restricted or in bypass mode.
What does p2646 mean on an oil pressure switch?
Wiring Issue – P2646 indicates that the voltage from the VTEC/Rocker oil pressure switch is low. This means that a wiring issue very well could be at fault. Take a look at the wiring harness where it plugs into this switch. Make sure that it is undamaged and securely plugged in. Trace the wiring back and see if it is damaged anywhere.
Is there an issue with the VTEC oil pressure switch?
Honda has had issue with the VTEC oil pressure switch and has updated the part. The switch can fail at any RPM illuminating the MIL and setting a corresponding code. 1. Verify engine oil level and condition, remedy as necessary. 2. Normally closed, the VTEC oil pressure switch grounds the reference voltage from the PCM on the BLU/BLK wire.
What does rocker arm solenoid do on Honda p2646?
The rocker arm actuator is an oil pressure switch which controls the flow of oil to critical upper engine cylinder head components. The Rocker Arm Control Solenoid supplies hydraulic pressure to the Variable Timing mechanism. This allows the VTC System to adjust valve timing as needed.

Why is my VTEC oil pressure switch filling up with oil?
Reason for pulling the oil pan and cleaning the oil passages. The new oem vtec oil pressure switch filled up with oil. Had 2 choices, either assume the switch was defective as a brand new component, or too much pressure was building up from restricted oil return passages.
