Is Laguna B mix a stoneware clay?

How do you make porcelain stronger?
Clay: Imparts plasticity and drying hardness to the wet materials and transforms into a mesh of crystals during firing (which gives porcelain its strength). Feldspar and Nepheline Syenite: The melting of the feldspar fills the voids between the silica and clay particles and cements them into a strong mass.
Can you fire Laguna B-mix to cone 6?

Is B mixed with porcelain?

It has a smooth porcelain texture, but you will most likely find it a bit easier to control than typical porcelain bodies. The reason for that is B-Mix contains a stoneware fraction, which imparts certain technical advantages in fabrication.
Can I use stoneware glaze on porcelain?
Some customers do use standard stoneware glazes on porcelain without problems but many do find that these give more reliable results. Of course you can put stains into the transparent glossy glaze. Wipe all the salts off after bisque firing as these can reboil during the glaze firing causing glaze problems.
How do you glaze porcelain?
Glazes are a liquid suspension of finely ground minerals that are applied onto the surface of bisque-fired ceramic ware by brushing, pouring, or dipping. After the glaze dries, the ware is loaded into a kiln and fired to the temperature at which the glaze ingredients will melt together to form a glassy surface.
How do you mix slips?
The process of slaking clay to make it into slip is a simple one. Step one is to have a 5-gallon bucket filled 60-75% with your bone-dry clay then add water until it’s a few inches below the rim (figure 1). Let it slake for 24 hours then mix it by hand a little with a stick (figure 2).
What happens if you fire Cone 5 clay to cone 6?
You cannot fire a clay higher than its maximum rated Cone, or it will melt and become deformed. For dinnerware it is best to use a Cone 5-6 clay if you fire to Cone 5-6. Remember, you have to fire your glaze to the Cone that is specified for that glaze, regardless what clay you use.
