What is Citra 3DS emulator?
Citra is an emulator of the handheld game console Nintendo 3DS, developed by Citra and contributors. It is mostly written in C++. Citra can run almost all homebrew games and many commercial games. Citra requires OpenGL version 3.3 or later to run.
Can Citra run 3DS games?
It can’t play every 3DS game, but it supports the big hitters like Pokémon, The Legend of Zelda, and Animal Crossing. It’s worth pointing out that the Citra Team only develops the emulator itself. How can Citra improve performance?
A few tricks I’ve learned that are quite easy are:
- Close all your other windows. This method will increase your FPS by at least 5 to 10.
- Keep your laptop charged while playing.
- To actually get the FPS above 30, you need to go to Emulation -> Configure -> General and change the max framerate to about 300%.
Do I need a 3DS to use Citra?
