Why does my honda odyssey shake when I accelerate?

Why does my honda odyssey shake when I accelerate?

A misfiring engine is one of the most common reasons your Odyssey will shake when accelerating. A vehicle’s ignition system consists of spark plugs, coil packs, and maybe plug wires.

What kind of vibration does a 2005 Honda Odyssey have?

While I was there, another woman that had a 2005 ex leather was there for the 6th time for vibration. One of my best friends has a 2006 exl-dvd and he has the same problem. This has nothing to do with wheel balancing.

Can a Honda Odyssey shake at highway speeds?

This happened to my 2006 Honda Odyssey with 146k miles. Shaking around highway speeds and only on acceleration. Immediately smoothed out with taking foot off the pedal or cruising at the same speed. Checked EVERYTHING. Tires, alignment, got tires rotated, got new tires, axle, axle joints, motor mounts (they were broken – replaced all 4).

What does the ODY do on a Honda Odyssey?

But I’d love to get some more input from others. The Ody, for maximizing fuel economy has transmission that shifts up into the tallest gear whenever possible (light throttle, medium speed) and the torque converter locks (again normal, designed to do this) to limit slipping and maximize effeciency.

Is there a TSB for a Honda Odyssey?

There was a Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) which was issued for 2007, 2008, and some 2009 Odysseys (but not the 2005). What Honda said to do in those cases was for a software update. I believe you are experiencing the same issue as the other 2005 Odyssey owner.

When does the vibration in Honda Odyssey subside?

Hard vibration starts at around 61mph and subsides at just over 70mph. Worse when going up hill. I think tires and such are ruled out since while its vibrating, if you take your foot off the throttle, it immediately stops. I figure if it were tires/rotors, it would continue regardless the engine load.

Is there vibration when going from 60 to 70 mph?

Oh, and if while going from 80 to a stop or lower speed, there’s no vibration. No vibration while braking (which would indicate warped rotor). I have those on my truck…. I KNOW warped rotor. EDIT: Forgot to mention that hydraulic engine mount is OK.. that was replaced about 20k mi ago. No vibration in ECO as long as not between 60-70.
