What is Alternagel?
Aluminum hydroxide (brand names: Alternagel®, Amphojel®) is an over-the-counter oral antacid and phosphate binder, most commonly used to treat high phosphate levels secondary to kidney dysfunction (abnormal or impaired function of the kidneys). It can also be used to reduce stomach acid production.
How do you take Amphojel?
Amphojel is usually taken between meals or at bedtime. Take Amphojel with a full glass (8 ounces) of water. Shake the oral suspension (liquid) before you measure a dose. Use the dosing syringe provided, or use a medicine dose-measuring device (not a kitchen spoon).

How does aluminum magnesium simethicone work?
Simethicone helps break up gas bubbles in the gut. Aluminum and magnesium antacids work quickly to lower the acid in the stomach. Liquid antacids usually work faster/better than tablets or capsules. This medication works only on existing acid in the stomach.
Can you take Tums and simethicone at the same time?
Avoid taking other medications at the same time you take an antacid. Some antacids can make it harder for your body to absorb certain drugs, making them less effective. Take your other medications at least 2 hours before or 2 hours after you take calcium carbonate, magnesium hydroxide, and simethicone.

Adults: 2-4 chewable tablets taken 1-2 hours after meals and at bedtime or as directed by a physician. Tablets should be chewed. Missed Dose: If the doctor has told the patient to take the medication regularly, take the missed dose as soon as the patient remembers it.
When should you take Venlafaxine?
Venlafaxine comes as a tablet or extended-release capsule to take by mouth. The tablet is usually taken two or three times a day with food. The extended-release capsule is usually taken once daily in the morning or evening with food. Take venlafaxine at around the same time(s) every day.
