What should the a / are be on a B18C GSR?
For your motor i would recommend a t3 style turbo (many different options both journal and ball bearing, as well as hybrid turbos such as the t04e) and a smaller a/r of around .63 or so (diameter of the housing inlet compared to the outlet expressed as a decimal) because the smaller the a/r the quicker boost pressure builds.
Do you need VTEC for an Acura B18B?
When you build the motor the starting power means nothing.Yea the VTEC head may flow better but once you start building the motor and boosting it VTEC is not needed.I have seen lots of people swap out the gsr tranny for the longer geared ls. Click to expand…
Which is better B18B or B18C1 for boost?
2.400whp is plenty easy on a b18b. hte b18c1 isn’t anymore capable than the ls. sure it has a “SLIGHTLY” better flowing head but the ls makes some nice midrange power when boosted and you don’t have to tune around vtec to have a steady powerband. Believe it or not vtec is bad for boost, you don’t want more valve overlap when boosting.
Which is better a full LS or VTEC B18?
Optimally, you would find a full VTEC B18, but the LS/V is still a great option. There are several design differences, but for the average street car, the differences are miniscule. High power LS/Vs are just as reliable as GSR/ITR engines. Compared to a full LS engine, The LS VTEC is a drastic improvement due to head design and VTEC.
