What can you not buy with Illinois Link card?
SNAP benefits cannot be used to buy:
- Hot foods ready to eat,
- Food intended to be heated in the store,
- Lunch counter items or foods to be eaten in the store,
- Vitamins or medicines,
- Pet foods,
- Any nonfood items (except seeds and plants),
- Alcoholic beverages,
- Tobacco.
Where can I use my Link card?
The Illinois Link card can be used in all 50 states at most grocery stores and ATMs. Look for a display that the store accepts Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) cards. Current Cardholders may access their SNAP (food stamp) and cash benefits at Point of Sale (POS) terminals at most grocery stores.
What can I buy with Link card in Illinois?
SNAP benefits can be used to buy foods for the household to eat, such as:
- Breads and cereals,
- Fruits and vegetables,
- Meats, fish, and poultry,
- Dairy products, and.
- Seeds and plants which produce food for the household to eat.
What stores accept LINK card in Illinois online?

Can you buy dog food with an EBT card?
If you get food supplements (or SNAP), you can buy food with you EBT card. You cannot use your food supplements to buy hot foods, alcohol, cigarettes, pet food, paper products, medicine, or household supplies.
How do I get cash from my Illinois Link card?
How to use your Link card at an ATM*
- Insert your card.
- Enter your Personal Identification Number (PIN) and press “ENTER”
- Select “WITHDRAWAL”
- Select “CHECKING”
- Enter the dollar amount and select “CORRECT” or “CANCEL”
- Take your cash.
- When asked if you would like another transaction, select “NO”
- Take your card and receipt.
Can I use my Link card at Walmart?
